Admissions Requirements

English Language Proficiency:
- The applicant must have passed English Language Proficiency Tests with a minimum required scores e.g. 5.0 in IELTS, 500 in TOEFL (CBT 173-IBT 61) and minimum scores of other internationally recognized and acceptable English Language Tests.
- Students from the UK, USA, Canada (English speaking provinces), Australia and New Zealand are exempt from this requirement as long as they have graduated from an English-speaking high school.
Applicants from various educational systems must comply with the following major rules:

Special Admission Requirements: Medical Program – Direct Entry
Candidates who hold a Bachelor’s Degree in a field relevant to Medicine; Pharmacy, Public Health, Health Sciences, etc. can be considered for admission to the first year of the course subject to fulfilling the requirements.
An Interview (Either in Person or Online):
The objective of the interview is to establish whether a student has the appropriate skills and attributes to complete the course successfully and to practice medicine and allied health courses professionally.
Applicants need to demonstrate through that they have an understanding of the biological, psychological and social dimensions of medicine to support their application displaying suitability for a career in medicine and allied health courses.
Admission Decision:
- On successful completion of the above, the admission is finalized on a competitive basis.
- All applicants shall be evaluated for cognitive and non-cognitive traits demonstrating their aptitude for the chosen area of study by the Admissions Committee of CUB.
- Applicants who lack sufficient background in science subjects may register for the non-credit remedial course offered by the University.
- The decision of the Admission Committee shall be final and binding.
Documents Requirements
Following documents duly notarized and attested by the educational institutes and relevant departments shall be required for admission and record purposes:
- Admission Application
- A copy of the Academic Transcripts and relevant certificates/degrees.
- Equivalency documents where required.
- English Language latest test results(Not older than One year).
- 3 passport size photograph with WHITE background (35 mm x 45 mm).
- Student Passport Copy:
- Passport data page (bio-data page)
- All pages with Visa information
- Observation page (showing any extensions, clarifications of name, and previous passport numbers)
- Recommended passport validity duration is 12 months
- Special Pass or Exit Stamp (if applicable)
- Personal Surety Bond along with proof of transfer of amount.
- An Affidavit from the parents providing financial support till completion of program.
International Student Personal Surety Bond
Belize Immigration requires CUB to sign and submit “Refundable Personal Surety Bond” from all the international students willing to take admission, binding the University for the sum of USD 00000 per international student.
In order to comply with this requirement, the University requires the international students to transfer the above amount to the University’s designated bank account for the purpose of the “Refundable Personal Surety Bond”.
The Personal Surety Bond amount will be returned to the international students after successful completion of the program. In case of withdrawal from his / her program of study, the refundable amount shall be returned subject to the terms and conditions including exit from Belize to their home country and on condition that there is no violation of any provisions of the Laws, Criminal &Immigration Ordinance and Rules, and University’s Laws by the international students.
No Admission shall be accepted by Canadian University in Belize (CUB) without fulfilling this requirement.
